Bachelor's Degree in a subject area within Finance, Accounting,
Human Resources, Student Personnel, Student Development or other
related fields. Work Experience Five years of relevant experience
in administering federal, state and institutional aid and
scholarships. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities 1. Through knowledge of administering rules and
regulations governing federal and state aid.

3. Skill in presenting Financial Aid information in classrooms and
4. Ability to interact appropriately with students and co-workers
in high stress situations.
5. Ability to serve internal and external stakeholders with a high
level of customer service skills, to include understanding the
value of and initiating appropriate responses to inquires whether
in the office, online or via telephone.
6. Evidence of strong counseling skills to assist students who have
unique needs or exceptional circumstances or need alternative
sources of financial support.
7. High level of ability to provide accurate and timely information
regarding the status of a student's award.
8. Knowledge of and sensitivity to the needs and expectations of
community college students, faculty, and staff, and community
9. High level of ability to organize workflow and work tasks with
an attention to detail.
10. Ability to work with a diverse student population.
11. Ability to establish and maintain effective communication and
interpersonal relations throughout the college and the

college student information system (e.g., Colleague or Banner),
Windows, and Microsoft Office. Essential Functions assisting the
Director in supervision of daily processes in the following areas:
federal and state compliance and awarding, student work-study,
student inquiries, computer data setup and retrieval, and federal
and state reports. The Assistant Director, Financial Aid
Processing, will provide compliance guidance to staff, manage
Satisfactory Academic Progress ( SAP ), package and award aid,
conduct the yearly system setup and internal compliance audits, and
facilitate the resolution of difficult and /or unusual situations
related to student financial aid issues. The Assistant Director
will also demonstrate cultural competency and actively seek to grow
in this area. Job Duties Physical Demands Reasonable accommodations

Working Hours A minimum of a 40 hour work week as determined with
the supervisor to allow the employee to fulfill the assigned duties
and responsibilities, including occasional evening and weekend
