AI Engineers are experts within Duke Radiology's imaging analytics and data sciences research centers regarding the application of advanced analytical methods to improve health care delivery, cost, quality, and outcomes. AI Engineers use data science and software engineering techniques to create and deploy unique and innovative advanced analytics solutions that deliver actionable information to stakeholders with a high degree of impact.



Responsibilities




  • Designs and develops enterprise-class, advanced analytic models to understand and solve complex problems. Creates models by analyzing large data sets from various sources and processes.
  • Establishes scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analyses and model development, validation, and implementation.
  • Develop and maintain algorithms, data packages, automated processes, and services to create a data science backed solutions that meets a business needs and supports Radiology objectives, products and improves while also improving processing efficiency.
  • Apply software engineering and machine learning skills to build data science & machine learning products to improve that provide automation and improve business and user experience
  • Utilizing machine learning techniques, design and build data science solutions and machine learning products - from platforms to systems for model training, versioning, deploying, storage, and testing models with creating real-time feedback loops to fully automated services
  • Draft manuscripts
  • Conduct Basic statistical analysis



  • Education Requirements


    • Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field
    • Masters or PhD preferred




      Professional Experience Requirements


      • Required one or more years of related experience.




        Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements


        • Requires prior experience with R, Python, or other analytics/data mining tools, databases, and computer programming.
        • Requires prior experience in developing complex solutions utilizing programming and/or software tools
        • Requires prior experience in building and deploying predictive models and other analytic translational research.
        • Theoretical fluency and working proficiency in the application of a broad array of statistical methods
        • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with ability to work with large, complex data sets, performing data mining, validation and analysis to trend and interpret information.
        • Ability to interpret and summarize results of various analyses in a timely and meaningful way is required.
        • Strong skills in data visualization concepts and techniques.
        • Ability to work professionally and autonomously. Demonstrated ability to set project plans and achieve them.
        • Excellent listening, interpersonal and communication skills. Must maintain excellent communications with customers and stakeholders
        • Comfortable and proficient in executing in virtual and/or cloud computing environments
