Job Description:
The Advanced Methods Development (AMD) Program has an opening
for a PhD-level Public Health Analyst position.The AMD Program
performs policy analysis, program evaluation, health analytics, and
regulatory science research in the areas of public health and
health services research. Our work includes a diverse set of
contracts and grants with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid
Services, the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention, the National Cancer Institute, and various
state and local health departments around the country. The
overarching goal of AMD is to conduct objective, theory-driven
research and evaluations to guide the development and
implementation of programs and policies that improve public health.
The position offers significant professional development
opportunities at a leading research organization with nationally
recognized experience in public health research and media campaign
evaluation.Analysts in AMD perform a wide range of tasks,
including, but not limited to, interactive dashboard development,
data management, statistical analysis, survey programming, data
visualization, and contributing to reports, presentations, and
peer-reviewed publications.Minimum Qualifications:Doctorate in Data
Analytics, Data Science, Public Health, Health Policy and
Management, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Psychology, Sociology,
Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related discipline;
or a Master's degree in one of those fields with at least 6 years
of relevant work experience.Demonstrated proficiency in public
health policy analysis, data science, statistics, policy research,
health services research, program evaluation, or related
fields.Demonstrated ability to lead research team(s).Advanced
statistical software programming experience:Proficiency in R,
Python, STATA, and/or SAS.Experience creating data visualizations
and static or interactive data dashboards using R Markdown, R
Shiny, and/or GIS software.Note: code sample(s) may be requested to
evaluate programming experience with statistical software
platforms.Demonstrated strong oral, written, and interpersonal
communication skills.To qualify, applicants must be legally
authorized to work in the United States, and should not require,
now or in the future, sponsorship for visa employment
status.Preferred Qualifications:Coursework completed in one or more
of the following: Applied Data Analysis, Statistics, Econometrics,
Empirical Economics, Health Policy Analysis, Health Economics,
Quantitative Psychology, or Sociology.Experience working with
complex survey datasets (especially population-based datasets such
as the BRFSS, CPS, YRBS, NSDUH, and NHIS), or administrative data
(such as medical claims or electronic medical records).Experience
with Git/GitHub.CSS, JavaScript, HTML, and/or UX design skills.R
package development and testing a plus.Experience writing and

below. Our pay ranges represent national averages and may vary by
