Nature of Responsibilities:
Assist with logistics and coordination of CES supported events
including, but not limited to: room set-up and break-down, basic
audio-visual set-up, as well as event-related custodial and
maintenance needs. Supervise and coordinate equipment rental
operations through the handling of set-up requests from internal
coordinators, inventory management and the supervision and
scheduling of student employees, temporary and/or contract
employees.
Specific Duties % of Effort
Supervise events equipment rental operations by handling event
set-up requests from internal coordinators and external rental
clients, arranging for supplementary equipment from commercial
companies when needed. Check cleanliness, as well as equipment and
set-up requirements prior to events.

Provide facilities oversight including identifying potential
security, housekeeping and maintenance issues seeking solutions to
identified problems.

Provide training and supervision of new permanent staff, temporary
student staff and contract labor.

Assist with the management of the Conference and Event Services
equipment pool; provide routine inventory of the equipment and
provide recommendations for new equipment. Maintain equipment in
good condition; purchase replacement parts and supplies and arrange
for repair and maintenance as needed, maintain inventory
control.

Desired Skills and Competencies
Environmental Demands
Physical Requirements: Supervisor, Event Logistics will do a great
deal of walking and standing and must be able to sustain this for
the majority of the shift. Must be capable of lifting and moving
set-up items including, but not limited to tables, chairs, stage
equipment, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires knowledge of basic mathematical and clerical
principles generally acquired through a high school education.
Experience
Work generally requires three years of clerical, warehousing or
inventory experience sufficient to acquire a general knowledge of
the accepted clerical and accounting practices involved in
equipment rental, invoicing and inventory. Work requires a valid
N.C. driver's license. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT
