The Master Electrician repairs and installs electrical systems
to new or existing quarry industrial plants, concrete plants,
asphalt plants and services building electrical repairs for all
locations including the Corporate office. This position will design
or assist in the design process, obtain necessary permits and order
parts and equipment for the project. They either perform the
installation or supervise the installation process and have the
ability to work on a team and communicate well with others. They
must ensure all circuits are correctly installed and in working
order. The Master Electrician will also fix faulty electrical
systems including all industrial systems. The position receives
guidance with respect to general objectives. In the majority of
tasks and projects assigned, the incumbent determines methods, work
sequence, scheduling, and how to achieve objectives of assignments
while operating within specific policy guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Installs, services, and repairs electrical panels, wiring,
lighting, and fixtures as well as specialized electrical equipment
Operates powered hand tools and other specialized electrical
Constructs and maintains electrical service equipment.
Ability to create and read electrical circuit diagrams.
Requisitions material and supplies from vendors; calls vendors to
discuss and/or coordinate electrical repairs and parts.
Occasionally performs other trades work incidental to electrical

documentation is in order.
Provides direction to other employees when assisting in plant

Education / Required Experience
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
Post-secondary electrical technology or certificate from technical
school preferred. Five (5) years or more of journeyman electrician
related experience required. Experience in leadership role

Current North Carolina Master Electrician License preferred.
Current North Carolina Drivers License required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of local and state electrical codes, pertinent
regulations and best practices.
Reading blueprints, schematics and other diagrams.
Using electrical diagnostic tools including 3 phase power.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and determine causes of
operating errors while being able to identify alternative
solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Ability to read and interpret documents, in English, such as safety
rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure
manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in
English. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or
employees of the organization in English.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and
interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed
but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with
problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized
