As a Medication Technician, and a Forest Team Member, you'll help support this mission by delivering exceptional, quality care to our residents. This position is responsible for medication administration to nursing home residents and reports to the Director of Nursing or designee.What we're looking for in our next Team Member...Must be a Nursing Assistant I/Medication Tech in good standing with DHSR-HCPR.Must have a current Medication Tech Certification with the NC Registry.Prior experience in long-term care (skilled/assisted) or CCRC is highly preferred.Strong communication skills; able to communicate clearly and effectively.Can-do spirit; able to build positive relationships with residents, family members, and staff.Customer service focus; able to resolve conflict/issues without becoming emotional or defensive.Strong time management skills; able to organize and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion.Team player; happy to help others when needed.Flexible work schedule. What you'll do as a Medication Technician (not all inclusive)...Administer medication as ordered by the physician and that are listed on the Medication Administration Record (MAR).Accurately identify resident's identification before administering any medications.Administers medications via the following routes: oral, buccal, sublingual, nasal, inhalant, eye, ear, transdermal, topical, vaginal, and rectal. Follow the policies and procedures of the facility and applicable state/federal regulations related to administering medication to residents.Maintain security of the meds, med cart and keys.Report any unusual symptoms and/or behaviors of the resident to the licensed nurse for assessment and follow up as indicated.Maintain confidentiality of residents' medical information under the Protected Health Information (PHI) and the Health Information Probability Accountability Acts (HIPAA).Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and attention to detail.Demonstrate a sincere commitment to serving customers at the highest possible municate effectively with residents and team members.
