PRMO Established in 2001, Patient Revenue Management Organization (PRMO) is a fully integrated, centralized revenue cycle organization supporting all of Duke Health, including Duke University Hospital, Duke Regional Hospital, Duke Raleigh Hospital, the Private Diagnostic Clinic, and Duke Primary Care. The PRMO focuses on streamlining the revenue cycle through enhanced management of scheduling, registration, coding, HIM operations, billing, collections, cash management, and customer service. The Mission of the PRMO is delivering quality service by enhancing the patient experience, providing financial security, and preserving Dukeas reputation and mission of advancing health together. Reports to the hospital Coding Manager and is responsible for coordinating and directing activities related to the coding of individual patient health information for data retrieval, analysis, and claim processing. ensures revenue integrity and quality of coding through supervision of the hospital coding processes. The position is responsible for ensuring these areas meet all the facility-required standards. Responsible for monitoring workflows, including measuring and managing performance indicators and key functions in the department to maintain business objectives. Hospital Coding Supervisors assist Hospital Coding Managers with budget preparation, staffing decisions, and the development and implementation of strategic goals for the coding department. Assists in preparing a variety of recurring reports, special projects, and other duties as assigned. Provides daily staff supervision to ensure the effective and efficient operations of the department while promoting customer satisfaction. Serves as an expert coder and the knowledge base for questions related to hospital coding. Responsible for maintaining the daily coding workflow to minimize coding backlogs. AHIMA credentials are preferred (RHIT, RHIA, CCS).





Minimum Qualifications





Education

Work generally requires knowledge of clerical and accounting principles usually acquired through an associate degree in Accounting or a directly related field.



Experience



Work generally requires five years of progressive experience in an accounts receivable environment. A bachelor's degree in Accounting or directly related field may be substituted for the education requirement and 2 years experience.
