Job Description:

**Research Support Specialist** **Location:** Oxford **Organisation:** University of Oxford **Type:** Full Time **Basis of Employment:** Permanent **Grade/Salary:** Grade 7 33,309 40,927 per annum **Closing Date:** 17 November 2021 **Description:** This is an interesting and varied role, working as part of a team in a non-commercial environment. The role of the team is to ensure that clinical research involving human participants in the University is compliant with the applicable governance and/or regulations through the provision of advice, support and guidance to researchers. You will become a member of one of two groupings within the Research Governance Ethics & Assurance team (RGEA): Sponsorship & Ethics; or Regulatory & Quality Assurance. There may be scope to move from one grouping to another in future. You will be involved in sponsorship review; reviewing ethics applications and other essential study documents, advise researchers, clinical trial planning, and safety reporting, GCP monitoring and audit. You will have a university degree (or equivalent) and, ideally, experience of working in a clinical research environment. However, internal and external training will be available, as required, to fulfil the role. Due to the effects of the pandemic, the team is largely working remotely at present, with opportunities to work on-site where this supports individuals and teams to work effectively. During 2021 we expect to return to a minimum of 50% on-site working. Whilst the role is a Grade 7 position, we would be willing to consider candidates with potential but less experience who are seeking a development opportunity, for which an initial appointment would be at Grade 6 (29,614 35,326 p.a.) with the responsibilities adjusted accordingly. This would be discussed with applicants at interview/appointment where appropriate. Please upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your online application. Only applications received before 12.00 noon on Wednesday 17 November 2021 will be considered and interviews are planned to be held (remotely) week commencing 6 December 2021. **How to apply:** Please upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your online application, and send to: recruitment@admin.ox.ac.uk **Further information if available (opens in a new window):**
