Job Description:

The schedule for this position will be 2nd shift Monday-Friday 12pm-8:30pm
Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • AAS degree in life science or High School diploma with relevant healthcare experience
  • 3 years of relevant experience; preferably in a clinical laboratory
  • Prior leadership experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures is preferred
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office --
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the positionJob Duties/Responsibilities
    • Assist in the supervision of the day to day operations of the Accessioning department
    • Performs a variety of pre analytical functions to support Flow Cytometry according to established standard operating procedures and protocols.
    • In addition to performing the functions of Technician, this level is responsible for coordinating the work of other Technicians, provides training and orientation of personnel as assigned, troubleshoots and assists department employees in resolving problems, advises management of problem areas, and acts as liaison with other departments.--
    • Help lead the team in their daily processes and procedures
    • Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
    • Oversee routing of specimens to their respective prep areas
    • Encourage process improvements and best practices
    • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
    • Resolve any production errors as requested by management
    • Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
    • Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
    • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
    • Responsible for enforcing and managing policies and procedures
