Overview:
This role will work in the Data Warehouse and BI Application space to support the user community. - The main focus will be development & modification of Data Warehouse Integrations, data models that leverage Azure Synapse, Pipelines, Data Lake, Delta Lake. Must have strong communication skills to regularly deal with the business, as well as with specialists from related fields, including database developers, and software engineers. Candidates must have outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills and a good grasp of the technical side of business intelligence and always keep up to date with the latest BI tools and technologies. - Candidates must also be detail oriented and highly organized.

Responsibilities:

Data -acquisition and ingestion - Identify -data -sources and build pipelines using various ETL tools such as but not limited to, Azure Data Factory and Azure pipelines.
Translate business requirements from product owners and analysts into technical code.
Identify, fix and document bugs, bottlenecks in workflows and pipelines.
Enforce security compliance, fine tune performance and promote code quality standards.
Explore, learn the latest Azure data warehouse technologies to add to current competencies.
Support Data Warehousing solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Support Business Intelligence Applications (Power BI, Cognos) as required.


Qualifications:
Qualifications

BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience
4+ years' work experience with 2+ (or MS 2+ years' work experience with 1+) in a Data Engineer or equivalent role. Data integration and/or backend software engineers with equivalent experience are encouraged to apply.

Basic competencies

Experience in data structures, data modeling, data warehousing and data pipeline development on Azure or equivalent major cloud platforms.
Fluency in SQL for data exploration and analysis.
Proven success in problem-solving, multi-tasking and managing multiple priorities.
Good oral/written communication skills.
Detail orientated, well organized and analytical.
Comfortable working unguided and independently.

Preferred competencies

Practical experience in software engineering development lifecycle, agile development methodologies, coding standards and best practices, code review, testing, source code management, automated build, and deployment processes. -
Advanced SQL and working with large datasets.
Experience providing technical leadership and best practices in data engineering.
Proven ability in collaborating with business users, technical teams and vendors in gathering requirements, explaining data modeling decisions and data engineering strategy.
Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate insights, challenges to stakeholders, customers and senior management.
Exceptional team collaboration, written/oral communication, and analytical skills.
Comfortable working with a diverse range of data technologies and platforms
Strong business and technical acumen, ability to influence others and manage multiple project deliverables and priorities.

$86,000 - $106,000
