Description: Baebies Inc. ( ) is a well-funded growth-stage
company that develops and commercializes products for testing in
the newborn screening and pediatric diagnostic markets. The
company's existing FDA-cleared SEEKER product is sought by US
public health labs, where the majority of biochemical newborn
screening occurs. The company has shipped over 12 million SEEKER
tests to date. Baebies' second diagnostic platform, FINDER, is CE
Marked and 510(k) pending and is poised for explosive growth in the
near term. Job Summary:The VP of Operations plans, organizes,
directs, and controls the activities of the operations functional
area. Depending on the candidate the position may also include
oversight of quality systems, document control, and product
test/inspection/lot release.Duties & Responsibilities - As a member
of the executive team actively contributes to and participates in
key company decisions. Works hard to develop and maintain a
cohesive executive team. Is totally bought in to achieve the
mission and to fulfill Baebies' outrageous growth expectations. -
Executes production to meet delivery, quality, regulatory, and cost
requirements. - Collaborates with product development teams to
successfully transition new products to operations. - Leads efforts
to solve problems, address customer complaints, and improve not
just product quality but the quality of the customer experience. -
Leads efforts to reduce the cost of goods and operational overhead.
Knows where every dime is spent in operations and is always looking
for product cost reduction opportunities to drive margin
improvement. - Leads efforts to proactively increase manufacturing
capacity where needed. Develops and executes plans for new
manufacturing equipment and process capability where needed. -
Recruits, selects, on-boards, trains and retains qualified
personnel in all positions in operations. Always working to make
the team function and perform better. - Recruits, selects,
on-boards, trains and monitors qualified suppliers. Understands how
important the supplier team is to delivery, quality, and product
cost and is committed to continuous improvement of supplied
materials. - Ensures operations compliance with quality system and
other relevant regulations. Ensures all policies and procedures are
truly effective. Maintaining ISO certification and FDA QSR
compliance are important but not necessarily sufficient; driven to
improve quality each day. - Develops, modifies, improves and
reports operational metrics as a part of an ongoing performance
improvement program. - Effectively oversees the facility safety
committee such that the entire Baebies team is not only operating
safely, but that the perception of the entire team is that safety
truly maters. - Develops, reviews, endorses and complies with
functional budgets. - Manages the facility. Leads projects to
design, improve, construct, optimize utilization, and as necessary
move company facilities. - Collaborates with other departments in
carrying out all responsibilities. Successfully builds
relationships across functions at multiple levels within
operations. - Manages the operations function to an agreed budget.
Owns the gross margin line of the P&L.. Requirements: Education
and Experience: - Bachelor' Degree or greater in a scientific
field, MBA a plus - 10+ years' experience in manufacturing
environment, 5+ years in a senior management position - Strong
problem solving, communication skills and project management skills
required - Both large and small company experience preferred -
Experience with FDA-regulated IVD manufacture strongly preferred -
Sufficient intellectual capacity and curiosity to learn/teach new
technology across multiple disciplines Compensation &
