The Building Center, Inc . Job Title: Truss Builder
Reports to: Production Manager
Location: Mebane, NC Summary : Performs all duties required to manufacture roof and floor trusses on the shop floor. Job Duties : Responsible for material handling of lumber and truss plates Cuts lumber per shop drawings Sets jig templates and truss geometry per shop drawings Assembles parts to produce trusses per shop drawings Stacks and bands finished goods per order Conforms to all safety requirements while working in the shop Keeps the shop work area clean Performs other duties, as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements : Comfortable using the following equipment: Forklift; Skill saw; Miter saw; Component saw; Linear saw; Tape measure; Hammer; Wrench for jig hardware Knowledge of manufacturing specifications and tolerances Ability to build to manufacturing specifications and tolerances Education/Experience : High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Work Environment : While performing this job's duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 70 pounds.

While performing this job's duties, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather). The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration.
