Description of Work

Registered Nurse - 3rd Shift

Murdoch Developmental Center (MDC) is currently recruiting Registered Nurses for multiple positions on 3rd shift. These positions are assigned to the Infirmary and arecross-trained and may rotate to any of several areas requiring 3rdshift nursing coverage, including Infirmary Charge Nurse, Campus Nurse, Alpine, or Ridgeway. The Infirmary is a 19-bed unit which provides 24-hour nursing care to people requiring hospitalization to treat acute illnesses as well as end of life care. The Infirmary provides emergency response and professional nursing coverage in residential areas after the nurses in those areas have left duty. It also provides assessment and treatment of employee injuries for the entire campus after hours and on weekends and holidays and ensures administrative staff are informed of events as indicated per policy.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide professional nursing care. This RN provides evaluation, assessment, and assures coordination and implementation of care delivery. This RN acts as charge nurse when assigned, provides clinical services and consultation including medication and treatment administration, MD/Professional contacts, & care planning for health needs.

Work Schedule: 3rd Shift 10:45pm - 6:45am; 5 days/week; rotating every other weekend. Occasional schedule adjustments as needed.

Salary Grade: GN12 Recruitment Range $54,128 - $78,218

About Murdoch Developmental Center:

MDC is one of three regional developmental centers operating as part of the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities (DSOHF). MDC in Butner serves 25 counties in central NC. Murdoch has approximately 1600 employees providing residential services and supports to people with IDD, complex behavioral challenges and/or medical conditions whose clinical treatment needs exceed the level of care available in the community. In addition to regional admissions for adults, MDC operates four statewide programs, which include support for children and adolescents with complex needs. Centrally located, MDC is convenient to Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. To be considered for employment, applicants must be in good standing with the North Carolina Health Care Personnel Registry.
