Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience within a corporate setting working in equity, inclusion, and diversity (EID) and executing on a vision, managing programs, governance, and compliance.
  • People management experience.
  • Experience in Human Resources, Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity, or related discipline.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with leadership, influencing and building trust, while empowering them to own EID change.
  • Experience in client-facing roles with strong ability to collaborate, engage, listen, and educate in partnership with stakeholders across functions.
  • Ability to scale and deliver strategic EID programs in partnership with cross-functional teams. Systems thinker with experience leading significant change processes.
  • Ability to leverage EID trends and innovation, translating them into effective practices. Ability to translate data to develop insights, tell stories, drive decisions, and measure impact.
  • Proven ability to drive organization-wide racial and gender equity and integrate EID into systems and processes.

About the job

Our Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity (EID) work is critical to our company's success and core to our values. As a business, we seek to work in-service of all customers and communities. As the Head of EID, you will report to the CEO, lead Google Fiber's EID function, and be part of the business leadership team. With a strategic, operational, and tactical approach, you will drive and execute on a holistic EID strategy and multi-year roadmap that enables us to make progress towards Google Fiber's EID vision and goals. You will provide executive direction, and as appropriate in collaborative coordination with the Head of People Operations, set policies and execute on matters relating to EID in management, employment, workforce, and business activities. You will be responsible for developing and implementing an EID communications strategy, in partnership with our Communications team, to ensure we are building a culture where EID is top of mind, with well-informed employees, who understand their role in driving EID change. In this role, you will also directly manage an EID Program Manager, and in partnership, guide and implement our overall EID strategy including its governance structure, principles, processes, and programming. You will leverage strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-paced, growing business. You will utilize your exceptional verbal and written communication skills and influencing skills at all levels, to communicate externally on behalf of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and execute an equity, inclusion, and diversity (EID) strategy and multi-year roadmap, including success measures, that ensures Google Fiber continues to find, retain, value, and develop people who represent the diversity of the cities and communities we serve.
  • Act as a trusted subject matter expert, create and implement a learning environment by advocating awareness, education, commitment, and accountability for the employee experience while influencing change cross-functionally and with leadership.
  • Build strong relationships with our employee resource groups, provide leadership and guidance on all programs and efforts.
  • Collaborate with the business leadership and People team to provide insights, resources, tools, and actions as it relates to workforce planning, talent acquisition, and inclusion strategies to support our EID mission.
  • Develop and implement our EID communications plan in collaboration with our Communications leadership.
