The Professional Development (PD) and Knowledge Management (KM) Lead will be responsible for the ongoing skills development of Clarkston stewards and the firm's knowledge management needs. Working closely with the firm's Strategic Business Unit (SBU) leaders and Service and Industry Community leaders, this role will support the workforce transformation needs in alignment with Clarkston's long-range consulting strategy. This role will serve as the lead for SBU skills development and knowledge management: for creating and managing associated project plans and proactively managing firm SMEs and resources to achieve the plans. While the primary focus is on Clarkston firm needs, there might be opportunities to support creative training solution design for clients.


  1. Partner with SBU leadership and Service and Industry Community leaders to support the ongoing Core & Elective skills development of our stewards and the firm's knowledge management needs.

  2. Serve as the lead for Core & Elective skills development, with responsibility for developing and managing a project plan(s) to support identified learning programs.

  3. Provide appropriate visibility into project plan and results (Content Creation and Delivery) on a regular basis to appropriate firm leadership.

  4. Proactively manage firm SMEs to creatively enable training and knowledge-sharing in support of firm's skills development and knowledge management goals.

  5. Oversee the regular review and maintenance of key knowledge assets, including the firm's Delivery Methodologies and corresponding tools & templates

  6. Ensure effective training tracking, reporting and measurement of business outcomes/results for all Training and KM programs; e.g., employee survey results, consultants with multiple staffable skills, billable in new skill area, etc.

  7. In support of sales proposals, be available to provide relevant:

o Training metrics

o Benchmarking data

o Career Stories (CV / Resume / Profiles (as needed))

  1. In support of partnership alliances (e.g., steward certifications for SAP, Veeva partnership), be available to monitor partner requirements and oversee completion of steward certifications to meet said requirements.

  2. Serve as a change champion for the continued organizational mindset shift around professional development, learning execution strategies, and knowledge management.

  3. Support continuous improvements efforts around PD and KM processes and execute marketing and change management programs to support PD and KM strategy.

  4. Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree in business or related degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Strong knowledge of the consulting industry, business terminology and processes is preferred. Knowledge of learning and development best practices, strategic talent management, workforce planning, and consulting marketplace is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Life Sciences, Consumer Products, Retail, and/or Professional Services industries (to enable our stewards to successfully serve clients in these industries).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience leading and managing diverse teams both with direct reports and indirect reports. Ability to lead and coach others across the firm.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and oral communication skills. Must be an excellent communicator and have the ability to communicate to audiences at all levels in a clear and effective manner.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to serve as trusted advisor and to handle and work with a high level of confidential human resources information, company information, and related materials.
  • The ability to juggle multiple priorities and tasks to achieve deadlines and to work in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Proficient in Office 365 (esp. PowerPoint and Excel), SharePoint, and learning management systems preferred.


Expected office hours are 8:30 am - 5:30 pm Monday - Friday with a 1-hour lunch. Planned overtime and travel to other Clarkston offices and company meetings is expected.
