Summary of Role
TheLead Pricing Strategist is responsible for analyzing
pricing-related dataincluding data from multiple sources. This
role uses technical and analytical skills to identify relevantdata,
extract data from various systems and analyze that data to
identifyactionable outcomes with the potential to drive toward
Extract pricing-related data from multiple systems and analyze
data to ensure consistency, look for opportunities for increased
revenue opportunities; identify information to support new product
development and pricing.
Identify proactive opportunities for promotional incentives
where pricing can be tested.
Analyze and interpret pricing metrics, using data visualization
including creating reports, infographics and dashboards to be
distributed to executive-level audiences, supporting monitoring of
the organizations pricing efforts.
Lead meetings and facilitate the use of pricing strategy tools
with Portfolio Managers and other stakeholders in the product
development process and pricing review process
Create product pricing recommendations for executive review,
including supporting data and research
Identify areas of pricing strategy and operations opportunities
and drive toward measurable improvements
Compile and analyze data and historical statistics relating to
sales and recommend necessary pricing to sell products
Work closely with the marketing team to understand their
go-to-market approach and provide pricing analytics as needed to
influence marketing efforts
Analyze trends and use business knowledge to determine the
impact of pricing versus other business factors
Partner with the Finance team and cpa.com to identify data used
in analysis, and consistency of use between teams.
Create and maintain updated documentation of pricing-related
Understand how pricing operates in the IT systems used by the
Institute, and provide input where appropriate, and perform user
acceptance testing of new functionality that impacts pricing.
Drive initial pricing recommendations during the new product
scoping process based on analytics and comparable product
Provide pricing decisions, promotion approvals and direction in
place of Senior Manager, Pricing as needed
Actively contribute to product scoping, portfolio,
revenue-related, marketing-related and other meetings
Ensure integrated and collaborative decision making amongst
segment, technical and product teams in regards to pricing.
Ad hoc financial analysis as needed with subject matter
expertise on data analytics and visualization for ML&C
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
Strong analytical skills with significant quantitative analysis
experience. Ability to synthesize quantitative information and
communicate observations, implications and conclusions in a
Strong, articulate oral and written communication skills
including presentation skills
Skilled and experienced in successful collaboration with
multiple and diverse teams and executive management
Required Experience, Qualifications & Education
5+ years with relevant experience in the following areas:
pricing or data analysis
Very strong skills analyzing data using tools such as Excel
Preferred Experience, Qualifications & Education
Relevant certifications (such as Certified Pricing Professional
Market research and analytics experience, with the ability to
organize and transform data into business recommendations
Business Intelligence reporting software
Infographic software skills
