Job Description Summary The Exponential Technologies (XT) Project Manager is an essential part of BD's Corporate Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) team and contributes to advancing the world of health for BD's innovative portfolio of products and solutions. The Project Manager will report to the Senior Director, Corporate CAE. The CAE XT team currently focuses on Virtual Reality (VR)/Augmented Reality (AR)/ Virtual Tours (VT) and associated software applications. In this role, the Project Manager will have the opportunity to drive the development and deployment of new digital experiences to demonstrate product solutions, educate healthcare professionals on proper product use, and engage with stakeholders-from potential and current associates to customers and patients.

The candidate must have proven skills as a project manager and the ability to coordinate new developments with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate must be driven, action-oriented, skilled in managing multiple high-profile projects, and have a keen understanding of the objectives and deliverables. • Manages CAE XT (VR/AR/VT) projects to maximize impact on BD. -Responsible for applying the appropriate XT technologies to achieve desired business objectives and adapting to evolving priorities. Collaborates effectively with key BD partners to set clear project goals and technically coordinates efforts of external partners and internal resources based on business needs. Manages all project phases from start to finish, including gathering requirements, scoping, generating a proposal, reviewing development progress, testing, and deployment. Works with business partners to meet project expectations regarding timelines and budgets and updates them on ongoing project status. Helps advise key BD leaders and project teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Collaborates with key BD partners to identify and deploy new XT opportunities meaningful to the company. -Requires the ability to partner and collaborate with key BD partners to identify potential needs for the expansion of CAE XT in areas important to the company. Close interaction with the Senior Director and CAE XT team is required to discuss options that best fit to augment the group's strategic direction. Researches different options and recommends the best ways to deliver solutions. Helps drive direction and coordinate efforts to implement new discoveries with tangible and identified value to multiple businesses and functions. -
• Enables the exploration and development of expanded CAE XT capabilities. -Works with the team to sense and implement new capabilities to ensure that BD stays at the forefront in using VR/AR/VT and associated software applications to enable growth and innovation. Seeks to understand the latest industry trends and collaborates with external partners to drive future enhancements important to BD. Identifies ways to deploy existing XT capabilities or expand CAE technologies impactful to BD. Ensures that new capabilities are developed appropriately and fully meet business objectives. Attends external industry events and maintains innovative knowledge through training courses, seminars, and industry conferences. -
• Promotes the value of CAE technologies to the BD community and increases awareness throughout the organization. -Meets with key partners within the BD community to share information about CAE technologies, promote knowledge sharing across BD, and organize ongoing visits with key BD partners
• Develops and maintains an environment for constructive inter-relationships among team members, business units, and various cross-functional areas.
  - QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, technical, or business development roles. Medical industry experience preferred. Some familiarity with working on VR/AR, Engineering, Software Development, Marketing, or Education/Training projects is preferred.
  • Educational Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, or a related field. Additional 4 years of related experience (beyond 7 years minimum) will be considered in place of the degree. Project Management certification is preferred.
  • Effective project management skills and proven track record of facilitating work through external partners and internal resources. Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams. -
  • Ability to prioritize efforts, use sound, independent reasoning, and judgment, and be flexible to constantly evolving needs and shifting deadlines to bring projects to launch. -
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and demonstrating big-picture thinking while calm and confident in a fast-paced environment. -
  • Open to new insights and solutions, understanding needs and how they might lead to potential opportunities, and the ability to learn quickly. Helps facilitate the movement of new insights through the organization.
  • Proven track record in interacting with technical and managerial partners at various levels throughout the corporation. Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and persuasion skills.
  • Must be able to travel as needed to meet with internal/external partners and support customer experience development and deployment.
  • Hands-on experience with software development, VR (Unreal, Unity), web development, databases, etc., or VR/AR asset creation preferred.
  • Knowledge of Project Management software and techniques preferred.
    - SUPERVISION:
    • The position is responsible for managing work conducted by external partners and internal resources, as needed, to explore and deploy CAE Exponential Technologies. This position will not immediately have direct reports but could in the future. -
      - ACCOUNTABILITY:
      • Work independently to prioritize tasks and complete assignments thoroughly and accurately. Responsible for applying the appropriate technologies to meet goals and best use time, resources, and available funds. Interact with external partners as a project manager to explore and deploy innovative applications. - Adhere to BD's policies and procedures.
