The Team

This team deploys sophisticated analytics and solutions to detect and prevent fraud for our financial products and services customers, collaborating with fraud investigators, surveillance analysts and business owners, assembling and analyzing fraud risk signals in near real time.

The Role
Client Financial Intelligence Unit is seeking a motivated Database Engineer to help combat cyber fraud using a range of technical and data management tools, designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's database systems. This includes ensuring the scalability, reliability, performance, and security of the databases. They will focus on both database development and engineering tasks such as writing and optimizing SQL queries and stored procedures, creating database schema and objects, implementing data pipelines and integrations, and supervising and optimizing database performance.

The Expertise You Have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 3+ years of experience as a database developer and engineer
• Proficiency with various database designs and modeling techniques.
• Experience with a range of database technologies such as DB2, Snowflake, Oracle, MongoDB, Redshift and PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization techniques
• Development experience in SQL, PL/SQL, Python and shell scripting languages.
• Experience with ETL tools and processes, including integrating with streaming services such as Kafka.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work cooperatively and effectively within a team environment
• Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently in a highly dynamic environment
• The Purpose of Your Role
• Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures
• Source and provide necessary data to Data Scientists in support of analytics.
• Design and implement database systems to support business requirements
• Create and maintain database schema and objects such as tables, views, indexes, and triggers
• Implement data integrations using ETL tools and processes
• Work with DBA and operations teams to support data needs
• Maintain the performance, availability, and security of the databases
• Solve and resolve issues with databases and related systems
• Supervise and optimize database performance
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to ensure data integrity and access
• Maintain detailed user documentation for the Cyber Fraud team
• Assist with database applications and data sources dependency mapping, reverse engineering of data flows
• Explore every possibility to build automated processes that streamline and eliminate manually intensive data processes to provide higher operational excellence and efficiencies
