DevOps Platform Engineer
This is a DevOps Platform Engineer role within the Fidelity
Enterprise Software Engineering domain supporting Enterprise
Cybersecurity group. We are looking for a candidate who has passion
to drive excellence for system availability and performance. The
idea candidate must have knowledge of AWS Infrastructure,
Automation, and strong python scripting to manage cloud-based
applications & systems. This role offers significant exposure to
pioneering software engineering tools & techniques, exposure to
enterprise network & systems (both on-prem & cloud), opportunities
to develop deep expertise in the network (cybersecurity)
engineering domain from a software engineering (automation)
perspective.
The Expertise You Have
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent technology
field
* 2+ years of experience in software development with at least 1+
years of solid experience in Python is a must
* Strong foundational knowledge with RESTful APIs consuming and
leveraging native APIs from 3rd party vendors, integrate
applications with multiple data sources is required
* Hands on experience in AWS development including build &
deployment pipeline is highly preferred
* Cross-platform experience, comfortable to work on Linux, Windows,
etc. including scripting is preferred
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to research
and find answers to technical challenges and learn new techniques
is required
The Skills You Bring
* Automation approach, ability to continuously look for automation
opportunities in the existing systems
* Strong foundational understanding of OSI layer, TCP/IP networks
(protocols, ports), DNS etc.
* Experience with engineering / integrating logging & monitoring
solutions
* Solid understanding of cloud solutions and cloud networking (AWS
/ Azure)
* Ability to quickly script test cases is desired
* Experience with engineering documentation based on security-based
practices is highly desired
* Experience with Agile methodology is desired.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills is required
* A cybersecurity and/or cloud certification such as CISSP, AWS,
Azure is an added advantage.
The Team
Enterprise Cybersecurity (ECS) sets Fidelity's strategy, policy,
and standards for the security of the enterprise cyberspace. This
role is within the Perimeter Security Squad that has Network
(Cybersecurity) Engineers, Analysts and Software Developers who
focus on developing, implementing, and supporting solutions that do
threat reduction, vulnerability elimination, deterrence,
international engagement, incident response, resiliency, and
recovery policies and activities. The team works on innovative
solutions to protect Fidelity's technology landscape and deals
primarily with Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Malware protection,
and other network security solutions.
