Certified Athletic Trainer D1 (12 Month)Longwood University - Farmville, VAAbout the Position:Potomac Healthcare Solutions is proud to offer a rewarding opportunity to work at Longwood University (D1) in charming Farmville, Virginia and invites applications for an Athletic Trainer in the Athletics Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the team physician and the Head Athletic Trainer within guidelines set forth by the NATA, NCAA, and the Commonwealth of Virginia to ensure the health and welfare of Longwood University intercollegiate athletes.Position Duties and Responsibilities:Perform a full range of Certified Athletic Trainer duties. All services performed shall fall within those guidelines established by the National Athletic Trainers Association, American College of Sports Medicine, and American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.Evaluation/treatment of injury/illness to Longwood student-athletesDocument the evaluation, treatments, rehabilitation, referrals, of injured/ill Longwood student-athletesProvide appropriate medical coverage during athletic events/practices/travel with teams.Refer injured/ill athletes to team physicians/consultants regarding injuries/illnesses/care when necessary.Communicate effectively with coaches and student-athletes alike regarding injuries and playing status.Communicate effectively with team physicians.Counseling/advising student-athletes and coaches regarding health, conditioning, illness or injury.Apply appropriate protective padding/braces/strapping/other orthotic devices.Design/modify appropriate individual rehabilitation of post-surgical/post-injury conditions.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors Degree (Physical Education, Kinesiology, Physiology, Athletic Training, Biomechanics/Movement Science) or related field.Masters Degree Preferred.Graduated from a CAATE Accredited Program required.BOC Certified as an Athletic Trainer required.Eligible for Virginia State Licensure required.CPR, First Aid and AED certified for the Professional Rescuer.CPR, First Aid and AED instructor certified preferred.Experience as a college athletic trainer preferred (1-2 years experience).Must be a US Citizen.Potomac Healthcare Solutions offers the following benefits:Medical Insurance with PPO and HSA Options (United Healthcare)Dental Insurance (Humana)*Vision Insurance (Humana)*401(k) with Employer MatchHealth Savings Account with Employer MatchPrescription Drug ProgramEmployer Paid Life Insurance and Short-Term Disability (Mutual of Omaha)*Voluntary Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability (Mutual of Omaha)*Relocation Assistance10 Days Paid Time Off11 Federal HolidaysContinuing Education Assistance/License ReimbursementEmployee Assistance ProgramWellness Incentives and MoreNOTE: *Effective the 1st day of the month following start dateAbout Potomac Healthcare Solutions: Potomac Healthcare Solutions is an award-winning, dynamic, and rapidly growing healthcare services company with a proven background in providing world-class health services for both government and commercial organizations.
