This position provides responsibility for nursing care of patients under the assigned supervision of a physician in an outpatient clinic setting. ?Administer medications and care techniques for assigned patients. Provides nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Nursing Board. ?Provide administrative support to the physicians. ?Provide a consistently available, medically trained point of contact for patients.?Job Duties
1. Greet Patients?
2. Complete intake process (ex. Vital signs, prepare patient for their visit, medication reconciliation, weight, height, POCT.
3. Assist providers as needed within scope of practice (ex. Assists with routine exams, procedures, chaperone exams)
4. Perform basic laboratory tests on premises (ex. Blood draws, POCT, Urine)
5. Assist in the collection of specimens
6. Prepare exams for patient specific visit
7. Prepare and administer medications as directed by provider
8. Sterilize medical equipment
9. Perform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by a provider or RN..?Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

? Graduation from the following programs: Medical Assist Program or a program accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Schools or The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools.??Education Requirements/Preferences
Level I ? Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant Program strongly preferred. High School or GED graduation required.
Level II ? Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred. High School or GED graduation required.
Level III - Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred. High School or GED graduation required.?Experience Requirements/Preferences
Level I no experience required
Level II Must have at least one year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
Level III Must have at least three years of clinical experience as Medical Assistant in a clinic setting.Note: One year of experience will be provided for an Associate Degree in Medical Assisting.?Licensure/Certification Requirments
Level I ? Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCCT, or ARMA Required. Certification by AAMA preferred.
Level II - Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCCT, or ARMA Required. Certification by AAMA preferred.
Level III - Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCCT, or ARMA Required.
