Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in MedSurg/Tele License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Strong background in MedSurg/Tele Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care Strong interpersonal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively Solid written and oral communication skills Ability to tolerate moderate to high stress levels Experience reading telemetry strips Skills in managing chest tubes, tracheostomies, PIV starts, drains & tubes, and PCA pumps Description: Registered Nurse for MedSurg/Tele. This position is located in a facility with 885 licensed beds and a Level 1 Trauma designation. It is an academic medical center with a focus on teaching. The unit has 29 beds and provides care for patients with general medicine conditions, including diabetes, gastrointestinal issues, respiratory ailments, renal concerns, and wound care. Patient ratios are approximately 1 RN to 5-6 patients and 1 CNA to 9-10 patients. CNA support is available to provide basic nursing care and assist RNs as needed. Additional support includes charge nurses, phlebotomy services, and 24/7 hospitalist and intensivist coverage. Centralized telemetry monitoring is utilized for patient safety. Experience with drip management for medications such as Amiodarone, Fentanyl PCA, Ketamine PCA, and Heparin is beneficial.
