Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Winston Salem, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,766 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/3/2026 About the Position Job Title: RN - PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU or PCU experience, CVICU preferred License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with general nursing skills, ICU skills, and specific patient care including heavy cardiac cases Description: New unit opening soon. Will initially open as high acuity Progressive Care Unit and transition to Intensive Care Unit by the end of the contract period. Patient beds will range from 10 to 12. Patient types include heavy cardiac, CHF, cardiomyopathy, tamponade, shock, STEMI/NSTEMI, post-cath, dysrhythmias, arrhythmias, post-pacemaker/ablations, external/temporary pacers, post-CABG/open hearts, and heart transplants. Will see post-vascular surgeries. Patient ratios will initially be 1:3-4, and once transitioned to ICU, it will be 1:2-3. Experience with Swanz and Impella is required. Wound care and dressing changes are needed as several post-surgical patients will be seen. Skills required include defibrillation, EKG interpretation, post-arrest care, cardioversions, managing and pulling sheaths, and handling bipap/cpap/hi-flow equipment. Chest tube management, tracheostomy care, arterial lines, and administration of all drips including pressors, cardiac, and sedation are necessary. Vented patients will be cared for once the unit transitions to ICU. Travelers will be expected to care for fresh open heart patients. Experience with LVAD and post-cardiac transplant patients is highly preferred, but training is available. No ECMO cases will be handled, but IABPs will be accepted once transitioned to ICU. Support will be provided by nursing staff and other resources including RT and hospitalists. Shifts will follow a self-scheduling model with weekend rotation. Holiday expectations include 50% of holidays within the contract period. Scrub color will be royal blue. Requirements Required for Onboarding ACLS BLS Pharmacology Skills Checklist Specialty Exam
