Job Description Job Description Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician Location: Intrepid Spirit Center (ISC), Fort Bragg, NC Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week (between 0600–1800; typical clinic hours 0700–1600) Position Overview The Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician provides specialized physiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for Service Members receiving care at the Fort Bragg Intrepid Spirit Center (ISC). The PM&R Physician supports interdisciplinary evaluation and rehabilitation of patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI), Anomalous Health Incidents (AHI), and complex neurological, musculoskeletal, and functional conditions. The position plays a key role in restoring function, optimizing performance, and supporting return-to-duty and long-term recovery within a Military Treatment Facility (MTF) environment. Key Responsibilities - Provide comprehensive physiatric care, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning for patients with TBI, neurological injury, musculoskeletal conditions, and functional impairments. - Performance Work Statement 0814… - Perform detailed functional and neurological assessments to identify physical, cognitive, and functional limitations affecting daily activities and mission readiness. - Develop and oversee individualized rehabilitation and treatment plans in coordination with interdisciplinary ISC team members, including neurologists, psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, nurses, and social workers. - Manage and coordinate rehabilitative care focused on symptom management, functional restoration, and reintegration to duty or community settings. - Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic studies and consult specialty services as clinically indicated. - Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences, treatment planning meetings, and quality improvement activities. - Provide clinical consultation to other healthcare providers and serve as a subject matter expert in rehabilitation medicine for complex and multifaceted cases. - Educate patients and families on rehabilitation goals, treatment strategies, prognosis, and functional expectations. - Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in MHS GENESIS in accordance with DHA, MTF, and Joint Commission standards. - Performance Work Statement 0814… - Close encounter documentation within three (3) business days and respond to secure patient messages within one (1) business day. - Performance Work Statement 0814… - Complete required orientation and training and maintain proficiency in MHS GENESIS, Dragon dictation software, and Microsoft Office applications. - Comply with all regulatory, credentialing, privileging, peer review, utilization management, and quality assurance requirements applicable to the MTF. Minimum Qualifications - Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited U.S. or Canadian medical school (or approved equivalent). - Board Certification: Board eligible or board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. - Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia. - Residency/Training: Successful completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited internship and PM&R residency program. - Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS). - Experience: Experience providing physiatric care in outpatient or interdisciplinary rehabilitation settings; experience treating TBI, neurological injury, or complex functional conditions preferred. - Security Requirements: Ability to obtain and maintain required background investigation and installation access credentials. - Other Requirements: Ability to work under a personal services arrangement with day-to-day supervision comparable to government personnel; compliance with DHA policies, MTF procedures, and Joint Commission standards.
