Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience. License: Active nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Must-Have: IV Start and Telemetry experience required. Unit will accept first-time travelers. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit may result in a cancellation and DNR. Ratios are 1:5-6 on the unit. Contracts for 13-26 weeks are accepted. 36 or 48 hours can be offered. Floating is required as needed to similar units. Four weekend shifts are required for each 6-week schedule. Patient diagnoses include Pre/Post Cath, Pre/Post PPM & AICD, and Watchmen Procedures. Manage stress tests, arterial and venous sheaths, TIA population, and carotid stent patient management. Handle Card-Tele, arrhythmias, and cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lasix, and non-titrating Nitro Drips. The unit houses a 24-bed inpatient cardiac procedural area with telemetry for pre and post cardiac procedural patients. Average length of stay is 1.8-2.4 days with rapid patient turnover daily. An ADT nurse is available Monday-Friday during peak patient transition times. Absences must be made up at the end of the contract and cannot be compensated with OT days. If a nurse calls out on a weekend shift, they will need to make up another weekend shift at management's discretion. The unit cannot promise a block schedule but will do its best to accommodate requests. All candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty.
