Scientific Research Laboratory Manager
Flow Cytometry Facility - Duke Human Vaccine Institute
OVERVIEW:
The DHVI Flow Cytometry Facility has been providing
state-of-the-art flow-based analysis and cell sorting for over 25
years. The Facility currently has two BD Symphony S6 sorters, one
BD FACSAriaIII sorter, one BD Symphony A5 analyzer, one BD
LSRFortessa analyzer, one BD LSRII analyzer, and one Sartorius
iQue3 Screener. The facility has three full-time staff members,
supports 120+ principal investigators, provides comprehensive
training for 24/7 independent use of analytical instruments, and
sorts samples at Biosafety levels 1, 2 and 3, including CDC Select
Agents.
The DHVI Flow Cytometry Facility has laboratories on Duke's main
campus and on Duke's Research and Discovery@RTP campus. The
Research Laboratory Manager position will be responsible for
running the day-to-day operations of the facility, supervising
facility personnel, operating cytometers as needed, and
implementing innovative cytometry-based approaches in support of
the scientific research activities of the Duke Human Vaccine
Institute and collaborating entities.
