communities.The role of Director, Access Strategy - Trade &
Distribution is responsible for product distribution, acquisition,
and implementation strategies for ViiV's Long-Acting Injectable
products. This position will partner closely with customer-facing
trade & distribution teams to understand insights shaping current
performance and evolve strategy & tactics accordingly to optimize
the customer experience and best support the objectives of ViiV's
long-acting injectable products.This is an integral role within the
US Market Access function and involves significant levels of matrix
management to appropriately influence stakeholders and manage
priorities. Success in this role will require a continuous
improvement mindset to monitor performance indicators (conversions,
time to fill, etc.), maintain strategic alignment, and achieve
critical success factors. This individual will be the internal
subject matter expert on specialty pharmacy ("SP"), alternative
sites of administration, and other channel-related current and
emerging topics. A strong working knowledge of the US
pharmaceutical distribution/dispensing system, specialty pharmacy
operations & programs, and payer coverage & reimbursement dynamics
for provider-administered drugs is critical to success in this
role.This role will be based out of ViiV's US Headquarters in the
Durham, Raleigh, Chapel Hill area. An attractive relocation package

include some of the following---
- Work closely with customer-facing Trade & Distribution team to
gain insights, set/evolve strategy, and ensure aligned
communication & collaboration with SP and Alternative Site of
Administration partners.
- Gather key insights, assess strategic options, and determine
appropriate path forward for scalable, effective strategies that
serve the short and long-term needs of the business. Partner with
relevant teams to shape corresponding business cases and
appropriate pull through activities.
- Proactively analyze trade data to evaluate channel
effectiveness, gain insights, drive operational performance, and
inform program enhancements that streamline the patient journey
from initial prescription to dispensing/shipping of product
- Actively participate in brand and sales performance forums to
gather/share insights. Partner with Sales, brand, and Field
Reimbursement to identify customer challenges specific to product
acquisition, reimbursement, and other implementation related
issues. Lead resolution activities and strategy evolution
accordingly to continuously improve the customer experience.
- Ensure aligned prioritization, communication and collaboration
across Market Access, Marketing, ViiV Connect (HUB), Sales, Legal,
and other key cross-functional business partners on high-impact
activities to simplify the customer experience related to product
access & acquisition.
- Collaborate within and beyond market access to bring
stakeholders along, simplify the complex and elevate organizational
acumen and understanding of channel and specialty pharmacy
dynamics.
- Maintain and evolve fit-for-purpose ways of working for
managing, triaging and resolving issues as they arise.
- Remain up to date on current channel distribution and trade/SP
trends, best practices, and customer learnings. Update strategies
to ensure that ViiV has a future forward industry-leading
implementation approach to support smooth patient and provider
journeys.
- Set priorities and provide clear recommendations in complex and
ambiguous circumstances.
- Work closely with Legal and Compliance to ensure all channel
activities are compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, and
company policies & procedures.Why you?Basic Qualifications:We are
looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our
goals:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of US-based pharmaceutical industry experience in
channel, distribution, managed markets, specialty pharmacy
operations, and/or related commercial roles.
- Knowledge of and experience with the US pharmaceutical retail
and specialty distribution/dispensing systems, SP operations and
programs, and specialty drug reimbursement complexities for all
acquisition methods and benefit placement dynamicsPreferred
Qualifications:If you have the following characteristics, it would
be a plus:
- Graduate to Post Graduate Degree level (e.g. master, PhD) or
equivalent experience
- Prior experience with provider-administered specialty
drugs
- Experience in or understanding of the HIV therapeutic area
- Knowledge and understanding of the alternative sites of
administration landscape for provider-administered drugs
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills with the proven
ability to effectively analyze data to determine trends and inform
strategy
- Strong strategic thinking skills and demonstrated ability to
translate customer, competitive, and environmental insights into
commercial strategy and tactical plans
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal & presentation)
with the ability to succinctly communicate complex information and
present effectively to large groups and senior leaders
- Strong interpersonal skills required with proven ability to
develop and maintain trusted relationships, work well in
cross-functional teams, and to lead & influence across matrixed
organizations (including influencing without authority)
- Demonstrated learning agility with a high level of curiosity
and motivation to manage complexity and solve problems in ambiguous
environments
- Proven ability to translate strategic direction into action
plans, manage competing priorities, and foster organizational
alignment under tight timelines
- Experience working with and managing external vendors and
consultants
