PRMO Established in 2001, Patient Revenue Management
Organization (PRMO) is a fully integrated, centralized revenue
cycle organization supporting all of Duke Health, including Duke
University Hospital, Duke Regional Hospital, Duke Raleigh Hospital,
the Private Diagnostic Clinic, and Duke Primary Care. The PRMO
focuses on streamlining the revenue cycle through enhanced
management of scheduling, registration, coding, HIM operations,
billing, collections, cash management, and customer service. The
Mission of the PRMO is delivering quality service by enhancing the
patient experience, providing financial security, and preserving
Duke's reputation and mission of advancing health together. Our

performance. Occ Summary
Coordinate and participate in a variety of dutie s associated
withdaily clinic preparation process, patient identificatio n,
patient checkin/out, charge posting, cash management and patient
appo intmentscheduling. Position also involves customer service,
messagedistr ibution, ancillary scheduling and preparation and
referralsmanagement.
Work Performed
Prepare for clinic visits by reviewing next day patients
andcompleting next day preparation activities. Enterpre-visit
orders andprepare new patient charts. Pick up X-rays, office c
harts, medicalrecords, reports, petty cash and collections bag.
File his tory sheets,ancillary reports and all other required
patient record docu mentation.Return medical records. Attach
HIPPA/Medicare documents to the encounter forms.Check-in patient
upon arrival in the practice. Identify correct patientinformation
in Maestro Care. Verify patient demographic data. EditMaestro Care
as needed. Accurately identify the appropriate ac countfor patient
visit. Present and educate patients on required forms a ndobtain
signature as required by policy and procedure. Completes allMae
stro Care check-in files and manage all appropriate alerts.
Collectand p ost co-payments and balances on accounts due. Imprint
all patientspecifi c chart documents and requisition/transmittal
documents. Copy,file and d istribute insurance cards as indicated
by procedure.Coordinate all labs/ procedures as requested. Maintain
private physicianoffice charts.Prepareencounter forms. Investigate
and account for missing encounterforms. Au dit encounter forms for
completeness and accuracy beforebatching. Batche s encounter forms
or charge posting in Maestro Care.Schedule tests and p rocedures.
Complete and distributeancillary service requisitions.Explain
billing to patientsaccording to PRMO credit and collection
policies. De termine the amountof cash to be collected based on
insurance plan.Check- outpatients. Make return appointments by
scheduling patients into thecor rect appointment type, entering the
primary care physician orreferring p hysician and scheduling tests
and procedures.Answer telephone, take and deliver messages to
physicians, nurses andothers. Report obtained medica l information
from patients and referringphysicians accurately, complete ly and
timely. Disseminate messagesaccording to practice communication s
tandards
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong verb al and written communication. Basic PC and data
entryskills. Knowledge o f medical terminology and telephone
etiquette.Demonstrated ability to or ganize and prioritize work,
provide oral andwritten instructions, intera ct tactfully with
customers and establishand maintain effective relation ships with
others. Must be able to applyspecific departmental policies r ules
and regulations relating toverifying patient information, collectin
g payments and maintainingrecords and forms.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires knowledge of basic grammar and mathematical
principles normally acquired through high school education
Experience
Minimum of one year of work experience in directly communicating
and activities. providing service to patients or public; preferably
in a healthcare related field. Experience in effectively
coordinating multiple tasks or
