Summary:Under minimum supervision, assists the Director of Surgical
Services with planning, organizing, delivering, and coordinating
patient care in the Same Day Surgery Department (OPSU) and in the
PAT department. - The SDS Clinical Coordinator is responsible for
directing and overseeing the daily activities to assure successful
safe delivery of patient care. - Assist in the orientation and
continuing education of the staff members in the perioperative area
by assisting with the implementation of all policies and procedures
of the facility. - Participates in direct patient care to maintain
clinical expertise and serve as a role model for the team. -
Collaborates with the Surgical Services Clinical Coordinator and
GI/Heartburn Lead Nurse to organize and plan direct patient care
activity to achieve the highest level of quality/ cost standards. -
Minimum Education Graduate of an accredited/ approved school of
nursing as an Associate Degree/ Diploma Nurse; Baccalaureate degree
in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing preferred.Minimum
Work ExperienceOne year of nursing experience required, two years
preferred. Experience as relief charge with clinical expertise
preferred.Required Skills Effective verbal and written
communication skills. Knowledge of appropriate equipment, policies,
procedures, and strategies to promote effective patient outcomes.
Detail oriented, with ability to prioritize and multitask. Ability
to apply sound judgment with clinical skills for optimal patient
care. Demonstrates flexibility by accepting and supporting changes
in work assignments as related to department and patient
needs.Certifications/License Licensed Registered Nurse in the state
of North Carolina or Multistate license.Current BLS, ACLS and PALS
