2nd Shift: 3:00PM - 11:30PM OR 11:30am - 7:30pm

SUMMARY



RN Supervisor or LPN Resource Nurse is responsible for supervising nursing staff on a designated shift and area of facility. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Monitors and directs medical care and assistance to all residents in the healthcare facility.
  
• Supervises activities and performance functions of nursing staff on duty.
  
• Ensures compliance with facility policies and procedures.
  
• Ensures compliance with government regulatory policies and procedures.
  
• Ensures adequate staffing for designated shift.
  
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
  
• Prepares equipment and aids Physician during treatment and examination of residents.
  
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of residents.
  
• Observes resident's significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of resident's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
  
• Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of resident.
  
• Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
  
• Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned residents.
  
• Initiates a resident education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or facility policy including resident and family instruction.
  
• Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities.
  
• Documents in AOD electronic patient medical record system via kiosk every shift.
  
• Other duties may be assigned.

  QUALIFICATIONS
  
  
  • 
    
  • RN supervisory experience or equivalent experience specifically in a skilled healthcare or long-term care center is strongly preferred
    
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina
    
  • Would consider an LPN Resource Nurse for this role. Position would require prior supervisory experience and licensed as an LPN in the state of North Carolina.

      Work schedule is M-F with periodic on-call rotation; exempt role (Full Time) for RN.
