Medical Assistant, Certified in our Duke Signature Care South
Durham clinic located at 234 Crooked Creek Parkway Durham NC 27713
to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct
and indirect care to patients. Duke Signature Care is a concierge
care internal medicine practice and primary care medical home.
Smaller patient panels allow our physicians to spend more time with
patients (adults 18 yrs. and older) during the clinic visit.WE

- You are welcoming and friendly to all patients and staff in
clinic.
- You are detail oriented, timely, and take initiative to ensure
patient workflow runs smoothly so that provider schedules are on
time.
- You are able to multi-task efficiently during busy clinic
hours; assist others during down-time to ensure patient needs are
met and work is complete. JOB DUTIES:
- Perform intake with patients to include vital signs, visit
information, and other clinical information as indicated.
- Perform telephone message taking with patients, document
encounter, follow protocols established by clinic leadership, and
inform provider.
- Administer medications to patients as ordered by providers or
by established protocols following the six rights of medication
administration.
- Assists providers with procedures such as wound dressings, pap
smears, etc.
- Participates in performance improvement projects.
- Performs tasks such as set up for clinical procedures, EKG's,
medication injections, lab draws, and other miscellaneous
appropriate tasks within scope of practice.
- Attain prior authorizations for medications and durable medical
equipment as indicated.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited
by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education
Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education
Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
- High school or GED graduation required.
- Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA
required.
- BLS required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITES:
- Knowledge of sanitation, personal hygiene and basic health and
safety precautions applicable for work in a clinic setting.
- Knowledge of infection control procedures, safety precautions
and age specific competencies.
- Knowledge of daily clinic preparation process; accurate
documentation in log books.
- Knowledge of and adherence to policy and procedures set forth
by clinic, PDC, and regulatory agencies (Joint Commission, Primary
Care Medical Home, etc. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Certain jobs in the
