Job Description:

Scope of the Position:The Physician Assistant / ACTT Prescriber will work roughly 20 hours a week.The ACTT Prescriber (MD, DO) will work collaboratively with October Road's philosophy of medical practice for ACTT services. Prescriber will work collaboratively with October Road's administrative leadership and ACTT Team Leads / Director to ensure quality and standards of ACTT care are met regularly per state service definition and agency expectations. Prescriber will meet daily ACTT community visit requirements as directed by ACTT Team Leads and/or Director. Prescriber will provide medical supervision for ACTT mid-level providers and participate in daily ACTT treatment team meetings as needed. Medical supervision is limited to prescription practices and delivering medical care to ACTT clients. Prescriber will serve as primary medical contact and authority when communicating with LME/CMOs regarding ACTT clients and/or ACTT concerns. Prescriber must use agency EMR effectively and efficiently in order to document all direct care visits and related documentation. October Road ACTT services span five counties: Buncombe, Henderson, Madison, Yancey, Mitchell.Prescriber will regularly demonstrate the following:a. Be punctual to work and ACTT visitsb. Manages conflict productivelyProfile: (Knowledge/Professional/Technical Competencies)Experience:(1) Licensed by state law to prescribe medications; and (2) Board certifiedor eligible (i.E., completed psychiatric residency) in psychiatry/mental health by a national certifying body recognized and approved by the state licensing entity. For physician extenders, must have received at least one year of supervised training (pre or post-degree) in working with people with serious mental illness.Other (language, level of computer skills, etc.)Exceptional verbal and written skills are required to effectively express ideas and views when (a) speaking to groups, staff, outside professionals and corporate officers; (b) for preparing written reports; for (c) clarification in supervising and delegating responsibility to department heads. Must be capable of relating to people in a manner to win confidence and establish support. Ability to evaluate and utilize data from statistical reports, budgets and descriptions of programs.
