To learn more about our culture, visit: are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician at the South Durham Otolaryngology Clinic at 234 Crooked Creek Parkway in Durham, NC. Schedule: Tuesday to Friday 7am - 5:30pm. Provide nursing triage, assessment and education to patients via telephone interactions and secure messaging. Manage patient needs including medication management, post procedure instructions and care coordination.Administer medications to patients as ordered by providers or by established protocols following the six rights of medication administration.Educate patients on disease management and medications.Assist the physicians during the examination and procedures, collect and prepare laboratory and blood specimens, insert IVs, perform Point of Care Testing (POCT) laboratory tests, maintain medical instruments to support patient safety and the environment of care.Complete assessments and intakes and record patient data and age appropriate screenings per protocol.Evaluate nursing care with emphasis on nursing procedures and patient responses; assist in the delivery of nursing care and selection of nursing priorities. Assist in the development and implementation of general policies and procedures to provide for the emotional and physical comfort and safety of patients; participate in the formulation of new policies. Participate in maintaining the environment of care including equipment and other material resources. Participate in the identification of clinical or operational performance improvement opportunities and assists in performance improvement activities. Assist with control of material resources and maintenance; assist in appraisal of effectiveness of material and equipment and report any equipment malfunctions to charge nurse. Participate in in-service education programs and other conferences within the service. Assist in the training of new employees. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSGraduation from an accredited Practical Nurse program is required.Current State of North Carolina LPN licensure and BLS Certification are required.
