Job Summary
The Clinical Lead functions as an assistant nurse manager / team
lead in supporting the nurse manager with operations of the unit
with 50% clinical and 50% administrative responsibilities.
-Cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, or telemetry experience is
preferred. - We are interested in hiring staff with three or more
years of nursing experience. This is an excellent way to progress
your career in leadership while acquiring new skills in a
fast-paced, high acuity step-down setting!
Work Hours & Shifts
Full time (40 hrs/week). - Scheduling requirements are
flexible.
Cardiology Step Down at Duke University Hospital provides care for
cardiology medicine patients with a range of diagnoses. - The
patient population includes but is not limited to the care of acute
coronary syndrome, post cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology
procedures, dysrhythmias, heart failure, heart transplant workups
and congenital heart disease. - - These patients require high
acuity care and many come directly from the ICU, post procedures or
outside hospitals requiring an increased level of care. - Many
times, these patients encompass a multi-system involvement which
can include but is not limed to pulmonary, renal, endocrine and
neurology. - The environment is fast paced, challenging and a great
place to promote and develop your critical thinking skills with
many opportunities for professional growth.
Minimum Qualifications
Education Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing required.
Experience
Three years of experience in nursing practice. Selected candidates
must meet the Clinical Ladder requirements for CN III within one
year of appointment.
Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
Must have current or compact RN license in the State of North
Carolina. BCLS certification is required.
