Years Experience Experienced RN - Cardiac ICU - Night Shift -
Durham NCThe Cardiac ICU at Duke University Hospital is comprised
of 24 intensive care beds where care is coordinated through an
interdisciplinary team approach. The interdisciplinary team strives
to provide excellent patient and family centered care to all of our
patients. Our common patient population includes: acute coronary
syndromes (e.g. STEMI/NSTEMI), post cardiac arrest, heart failure
and varying cardiac arrhythmias. Occ SummaryIndependently plan and
provide professional nursi ng care for patientsin accordance with
physician orders and established policies andprocedures. Provide
nursing services to patients and familie s inaccordance with the
scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
Work PerformedPlan, provide, super vise and document professional
nursing careutilizing the nursing process for patients in
accordance with physicianorders and established policies and
procedures. Use professional nursingjudgment to individualize the
plan of care based on assessment of thepatient's baseline needs and
resp onse to care.Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of
other licens ed andunlicensed care providers.Assist other nursing
personnel in the de livery of nursing care and actas team leader or
charge nurse for a group of patients or an entire unitas
assigned.Monitor and initiate correctiv e action to maintain the
environment ofcare including equipment and mate rial
resources.Participate in own professional development by maintainin

7:00am EducationWork requires graduation from an accredited BSN
program. Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014
and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or
higher) are expected to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within
two years of their start date but must complete the program within
five years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July
1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in
this job classification. Experience Twelve months of appropriate
clinical experience is required. At a manager's discretion,
employees with 6 months of experience who are exceptional
performers may be eligible for this level. Degrees, Licensures,
Certifications Must have current or compact RN licensure in the
