rotating morning and evening shifts (6:30am-3pm, 9am-5:30pm,
3pm-11:30pm).Occ SummaryPharmacy Tech 1This individual performs,
under su pervision, a variety of duties inaccordance to department
procedures, wh ich may be related to theprocurement, preparation,
distribution and stor age of drugs, as well as,assistingwith
clinical pharmacy services accor ding to the Pharmacy'srole in
ensuring safe medication use.Pharmacy Tech IIThis individual
performs, under supervision, a variety of duties inac cordance to
department procedures, which may be related to theprocuremen t,
preparation, distribution and storage of drugs, as well
as,provision of clinical pharmacy services according to the
Pharmacy's rolein ensurin g safe medication use.Individuals
eligible for pharmacy technician level II are competent inall tasks
associated with pharmacy technician level I and have achievedthe
area specific advanced competency requirements. Pharmacy
technicianlevel II staff must achieve and maintain certificatio n
by the PharmacyTechnician Certification Board (PTCB) or The Exam
for t heCertificationof Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT). Work Perfor
medPharmacy Tech 1To accurately and efficiently follow workflow
procedures includingprescription processing, medication preparation
and distribution topatient.Restock automaticdispensing cabinets and
anesthe sia workstations asneededAnswer and screens telephones
calls and directs calls to appropriatepersonnel when needed.Handle
medications in accorda nce to department, regulatory and
legalrequirements (e.g., medication re cords, pulling
outdated/unusablemedications).Collaborates with immediate pharmacy
team, insurance companies andcustomers alike to resolve issues ,
ensure accuracy and deliver a timelyresolution of any medication or
in surance related concern.Assist with a variety of basic clinical
function s in support of theclinical pharmacist (e.g., medication
safety and adhe rence initiatives,patient follow up
calls).Efficient operation and basic level of technical support for
specialtymachinery, equipment, devices o r software necessary in
performing jobfunctions (e.g., carousels, autom ated dispensing
cabinets, compounders,drug delivery devices, retail phar macy
systems).Deliver medications and supplies to patient care and ancil
lary areas.Complete and document all assigned safety and quality
activit ies incompliance with department procedures.Prepare IV
solutions using a septic technique and/or compound
non-sterilemedications at select locati ons.Manage individual
responsibilities while supporting team members and contributing to
broader team goals.Perform other related duties incident al as
assigned.Pharmacy Tech IIPerform a variety of clinical functions i
n support of the clinicalpharmacist (e.g., patient interviews,
medicatio n safety and adherenceinitiatives, patient follow up
calls, collection o f clinical data forthe pharmacist).Efficient
operation and ability to tr oubleshoot specialty
machinery,equipment, devices or software as neces sary in
performing jobfunctions (e.g., carousels, automated dispensing c
abinets, compounders,drug delivery devices, retail pharmacy
systems).Man age individual responsibilities while being able to
shift to helpteam me mbers and contribute to broader team goals
with minimumsupervision.Assis t with training of new employees and
students, educating them injob-spec ific functions.Perform other

High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited
pharmacy technician-training program. or Acceptance into pharmacy
school. or High school diploma or equivalent and one year of

school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited
pharmacy technician-training program. or Acceptance into pharmacy
school. or High school diploma or equivalent and one year of
pharmacy or health care related experience. ExperiencePharmacy Tech
1 N/A Pharmacy Tech II Minimum of one years related experience.
Degrees, Licensures, CertificationsPharmacy Tech 1 Must be
registered with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy within the
first 180 days. Pharmacy Tech II North Carolina Board of Pharmacy
registration is required. Pharmacy Technician certification is
required from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or
The Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT).
