Founded in 1998 to provide efficient, responsive care, the health system offers a full network of health services and encompasses Duke University Hospital, Duke Regional Hospital, Duke Raleigh Hospital, Duke Primary Care, Private Diagnostic Clinic, Duke Home and Hospice, Duke Health and Wellness, and multiple affiliations.--Occupational Summary--The Duke University Clinical Imaging Physics Group (CIPG) (https://cipg.duhs.duke.edu) seeks individuals to fill an imaging physicist position to join a progressive medical physics team focused on providing high-quality physics services to support and inform clinical imaging practice at Duke University Health System. The position requires strong scientific, clinical, and professional competence in clinical imaging physics.--Responsibilities--The applicant will be responsible for commissioning, optimizing, and monitoring the performance of imaging equipment. The imaging modalities include radiography, mammography, fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and MRI. The duties include medical physics inspections, analyzing the data, assessing the trends in equipment performance over time, maintaining required records and reports, coordinating with clinical staff, and interacting with clinicians on image quality and safety issues. A strong emphasis is placed on physics practices that are purposed to be operationally-oriented, efficient, scientifically based, and clinically- relevant, with strong aspirations to impalement and practice Medical Physics 3.0 towards the future progression of the field. The responsibilities further include providing training to radiological technologists, radiology residents, and medical physics trainees. The individual may perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.--Education/Training--The individual should have a MS or PhD in medical physics or related field with relevant scientific clinical experience. The ideal candidate would have ABR board certification or eligibility in Diagnostic Radiologic Physics.--Experience/SkillsThe individual should have a clear understanding of imaging modalities in modern medicine, and be strong in technical, clinical, and scientific aspects of medical imaging. A strong emphasis is placed upon communication skills, scientific competency, and ability to implement scientific concepts into the clinic. Experience with coding and machine-learning applications is a plus.
