Job Description:

This residency provides advanced training in application and management of pharmacist-run services in the outpatient environment. Learning experiences are offered in Duke University Hospital’s various outpatient experiences, ranging from primary care clinics and population health to specialty clinics in anticoagulation, cardiology, endocrinology, neurology, solid organ transplant, infectious disease and others. Direct patient care is a standard, with extensive opportunities to collaborate with physicians and other health care professionals in a multidisciplinary environment. A research project will be selected based on the resident’s professional interests and the needs of the department; quality of pharmacy service research is encouraged. Student teaching is an integral component as well, with opportunities to instruct students on ambulatory care rotation as well as in lectures in areas of chronic medical therapy.
