Job Description:

Architects, designs, and supports the building of highly scalable OLTP/OLAP applications. Creates blueprints to build external Cloud data applications and capabilities using Amazon Web Services (AWS). Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for strategic initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software application solutions and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends best practices, standards, and strategies to develop next generation data platforms.

Primary Responsibilities:

Develops data solutions architecture for platform capabilities and use cases.

Actively participates and contributes to architecture artifact reviews.

Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple data applications or subsystems.

Guides engineering teams and assists them in implementing capabilities aligned with architectural blueprints.

Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.

Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.

Provides data architecture support for multiple initiatives.

Acts as a primary liaison for initiatives to resolve technology issues.

Executes proof of concepts to validate solutions and recommend new technologies.

Advises senior management on technical strategy.

Partners with enterprise and cross business unit architects to architect enterprise data solutions.

Develops standards and best practices and promotes reusability.

Develops data architecture and roadmaps to migrate legacy platforms to Cloud.

Mentors junior team members.

Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience architecting or designing highly scalable OLTP/OLAP applications.

Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience architecting or designing highly scalable OLTP/OLAP applications.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (DE) architecting and designing Master Data Management (MDM) solutions for customer, product, and vendor domains, using informatica MDM or IBM Initiate; and performing data profiling and standardization.

DE architecting and solutioning Data Lake and Warehouses using Cloud native database -- Snowflake; building data applications and capabilities in external Cloud - AWS; and architecting, designing, and tuning complex database applications, using Snowflake user console and TOAD/ SQL developer for Oracle.

DE performing ETL, ELT, and data integration processes with complex data transformations, using SQL, Unix shell scripting, and JSON/ XML Parsing; and performing full life cycle analysis of Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) and Online Transactional Processing (OLTP) databases.

DE performing logical modeling for OLTP and OLAP systems, using Visio, Power Designer, and draw.io; architecting and designing robust, efficient, and scalable database constructs with large datasets in Operational Data Store (ODS) and data warehouse environments, using PL/SQL, UTPL/SQL, Informatica Power Center, or Python (for database ETL).
