Job Description:
Architects, designs, and develops enterprise-scale, Cloud native
applications that require system to system integration, using
established and emerging technologies and vendor products. Designs
and develops code in JAVA/J2EE, using Eclipse, Spring, MyBatis,
JDBC, Cloud technologies, and Informatica. Draws on in-depth
knowledge of the business or function to provide business unit-wide
solutions by developing complex, multi-faceted software
applications. Researches and recommends new technologies in support
of the strategic direction of the business unit and participates in
the research and recommendation of appropriate models, methods,
tools, and technologies to achieve business-unit-wide
solutions. Primary Responsibilities: Architects scalable, fault tolerant, highly available Cloud
native platforms. Translates and incorporates business vision and strategy to
architectural strategy recommendations at the functional level. Participates in high-level, cross-functional architecture and
design teams. Identifies and consults with internal and external technical
resources to produce cross-company strategic designs. Coordinates architecture and design process among business and
technical stakeholders for online financial transaction processing
systems. Consults on development and delivery of major technology
initiatives for the business unit. Consults on deployment of major project deliverables. Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects
across multiple platforms. Develops major and critical project deliverables. Consults on the documentation of major technology
application. Oversees the technical implementation of cross-divisional or
company architectural components. Initiates and drives project or strategy discussions with users
or external groups to resolve issues. Sets vision, goals, and direction of team/organization. Plans and leads organization-wide initiatives. Provides leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to
multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex
organization-wide projects. Advises senior management on technical strategy. Researches and recommends new technologies. Works across groups to identify opportunities for
organization-wide technology initiatives. Provides guidance, training, and coaching to other team members
for performance and career development. Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for
projects. Identifies and plans for future resource needs. Determines technical approaches at a strategic level for the
business unit. Coordinates/liaises with offshore and multi-region development
teams. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer
Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related
field and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or six (6)
years of experience architecting, designing, and developing pension
or health-benefits administration and recordkeeping
applications. Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering,
Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics,
or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience in the
job offered or four (4) years of experience architecting,
designing, and developing pension or health-benefits administration
and recordkeeping applications. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) architecting highly available, fault
tolerant, scalable, and Cloud native, pension or health-benefits
recordkeeping and administration platforms, using Cloud
technologies, Docker, Kubernetes, Microsoft Azure, and Java; and
designing and implementing event orchestration, enrollment
workflows, evidence of insurability, plan eligibility, and ANSI
standards based service (vendor) provider interactions, using Cloud
and Java technologies. DE architecting, designing, and developing Cloud-based
enterprise applications using Java technologies; designing,
developing, and deploying REST based micro services using Spring
REST; performing Object-Oriented analysis and design throughout the
Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) using visual modeling;
implementing enterprise applications, using Message Brokers and
SOA/ESB tools -- IBM MQ, Active MQ, Kafka; and architecting and
developing batch processes, using Spring Batch, Control-M, and
Shell scripts. DE designing and developing online transaction processing and
data models for pension or health-benefits administration
platforms, using PostgreSQL, DBSchema, and Liquibase; implementing
and tuning SQL stored procedures, functions, triggers, and queries
within a relational database environment; designing and developing
ETL workflows using Informatica; and performing file transfers
using AXWAY. DE deploying enterprise applications, using Docker, Kubernetes,
and Microsoft Azure; defining application observability, using
DataDog, Splunk, and Dynatrace; implementing application monitors
and alerts, and performing distributed tracing using DataDog; and
implementing DevOps and building Continuous Integration/Continuous
Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, using Groovy, Jenkins, Liquibase,
