Job Description:

Designs and develops systems and solutions, using Java, C++, and Angular.js programing. Develops applications, using AWS services -- EC2, Lambda, S3, and ElasticSearch. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

Participates in architecture design teams.

Defines and implements application level architecture.

Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.

Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.

Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.

Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.

Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.

Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.

Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.

Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.

Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.

Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.

Advises senior management on technical strategy.

Mentors junior team members.

Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience developing tools for quantitative analysis.

Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience developing tools for quantitative analysis.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Experience (DE) developing tools for quantitative analysts to perform investment risk analysis in asset-management and investment risk domains, and performing full lifecycle analysis of existing and developing new quantitative applications, using Oracle PL/SQL, Informatica, Python, R, and Java; creating complex ETL data transformations using Informatica PowerCenter; designing, developing, and tuning complex in-house built database applications, using TOAD, DB Profiler, APEX, and SQL Monitor; creating and maintaining batch jobs using Autosys scheduler; and designing conceptual, logical, and physical data-models, using Sybase Power Designer and MS Visio.

DE designing and implementing highly scalable business reporting tools, using Tableau, VB Script, and OBIEE reports; performing performance tuning of SQL queries, using XPLAN analysis, DB Profiler, SQL monitor, and Python, R, and Java processes; performing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) development -- deploying pipelines (using Jenkins), code versioning (using Stash), peer code review (using Crucible), and testing (using UTPL/SQL); and creating executable programs, using AWS lambda, S3, and EC2 code deployment.

DE calculating daily and monthly times-series, asset, equal, and log-weighted performance figures of portfolios and blends, using SQL, Python, and Java; performing holdings calculation based on pending and executed trades to assist Portfolio Analysts in obtaining real-time cash positions; supporting quantitative analyst in the development, modeling, research, and building of Python and R based tools and libraries; and uploading and downloading files from Factset for factor based risk and performance analysis.

DE operating MSCI Barraone UI (Barra) and BDT (Barra Development Toolkit); performing Terms and Conditions (TnC) uploading to Barra, using fixed-income and equity investment vehicles -- bonds, securities, hedge and mutual funds, and derivatives; and implementing complex investment risk calculations -- specific risk, correlation, and covariance -- using matrix-math based calculations to assist Quantitative and Portfolio Analysts in tracking and managing portfolio risks, and determining appropriate investment opportunities through tracking-error (TE), volatility, P&L ratios, and risk attribution analysis (asset-allocation and security).
