Job Description:

Provides technical solutions, leads development improvements, and supports National Financial and Institutional Wealth Services Systems. Reviews and approves change tickets for internal and external teams using Service Now. Ensures batch cycles are completed successfully using Control-M scheduler. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

Participates in architecture design teams.

Defines and implements application level architecture.

Develops applications on complex changes, components, and subsystems for the division.

Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.

Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.

Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.

Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.

Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.

Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.

Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.

Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.

Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.

Advises senior management on technical strategy.

Mentors junior team members.

Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects sup-porting several divisional initiatives.

Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Participates in on-call Subsys support.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience developing and supporting mainframe applications within a financial services environment.

Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience developing and supporting mainframe applications within a financial services environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (DE) in batch cycle management -- triaging and providing incident escalations and resolutions -- within an end-to-end environment (online mainframe, batch processes, web services, and transmissions), using Cobol, JCL, TSO, and DB2; and utilizing Service NOW and SKYPE for incident management escalations.

DE performing application development and change management -- analysis, requirements gathering, designing, coding, unit and acceptance testing, and implementation and validation -- within a mainframe brokerage environment, using Service Now, Visio, Interest, and Microsoft Office; and participating in change management forums for design reviews, release control, production readiness, and ticket approvals.

DE serving as a technical lead -- providing direction and oversight to ensure deliverable completion including, scheduling and participating -- in mainframe on-call rotations.

DE supporting billing and fee, transmission, statement, and money movement processing -- check writing and electronic fund transfer (EFT), trust processing, annuities, wealth management, second level security, and generic rules engines -- for mainframe brokerage applications.
