including orthopedics, weight-loss surgery, women's services, and
heart and vascular services. - -Department Profile:Duke Regional
Hospital's Behavioral Health Emergency Department is a
community-based facility featuring a 19-bed behavioral health unit
and an 8-bed behavioral health medical ED unit dedicated to serving
the adult population. Our Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)
department has six treatment rooms and treats 18-20 patients daily.
The Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic supervises a team of three
nurses. Our mission is to deliver exemplary care for each patient,
ensuring an outstanding patient experience every time. - -Join our

health care in a supportive and dynamic environment. -Position
Summary:
- The Nurse Manager, Operations will be responsible for:
- Managing and coordinating patient care and personnel
needs.
- Planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating ambulatory
health care services, programs, and activities.
- Overseeing multi-specialty nursing services and ensuring
high-quality care delivery.
- Performing other related duties incidental to the role,
including managing the resolution clinic.
- Handling various personnel actions such as hiring, orientation,
performance appraisals, promotions, and scheduling; providing
counsel and conducting formal discipline of clinical staff.
- Collaborating on the development, implementation, and expansion
of learning opportunities and skill development for all staff.
- Analyzing, developing, and maintaining an efficient nursing
care delivery system to meet patient and family needs across the
continuum.
- Promoting education for patients, their families, and the
community; participating in direct patient care activities to role
model or gather information.
- Working with nursing colleagues to optimize resource
utilization across departments.
- Identifying clinical operational needs; managing equipment and
supplies, and ensuring proper maintenance.
- Assessing the environment and making recommendations to ensure
optimal patient comfort, safety, and regulatory compliance (e.g.,
OSHA, The Joint Commission).
- Collaborating with the Clinical Operations Director, Behavioral
Health Service Line Director, and Medical Directors on fiscal
requirements; making budgetary recommendations, including staffing
and patient care materials.
- Fostering exemplary customer service and promoting effective
communication skills, including problem-solving, assertiveness,
team support, feedback, active listening, and conflict
resolution.
- Developing and implementing processes for ongoing quality
improvement in clinic operations.
- Documenting, implementing, and monitoring policies and
procedures that reflect the behavioral health care site's mission
and objectives.
- Collaborating with the Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit manager
on staffing needs.
- Managing the clinic in the absence of the ED manager; being
available on-call for emergencies involving the facility, staff,
and patients. -Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements, including the
North Carolina Nurse Practice Act -Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's
degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of nursing experience
required; management experience preferred.
- Combination of Emergency Department and Behavioral Health
experience required -Licenses and Certifications:
- Current or compact RN licensure in North Carolina
required.
- BLS certification required.
- Crisis Prevention Institute Training must be obtained within
