Position Summary

As the Treasurer of Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions, you will be responsible for managing the company's global cash and liquidity management, foreign exchange exposure, debt financing, and investment activities. You will also play a critical role in leading the company's automation initiatives to streamline treasury processes and enhance the efficiency of the organization. You will work closely with senior management and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and to optimize the company's financial resources in support of transformative growth.

Reporting to the SVP, Finance, the Director of Treasury is responsible for developing the International Treasury strategy and managing the selection, implementation, and operation of one or more accounting systems, to ensure support of TGCS's goals and initiatives in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures. The Director will be responsible for evaluating and implementing best in practice strategies to maximize international cash flow, developing a global cash forecast, holding regional Treasury teams accountable for forecasts and PLAN targets and serving as the highest-ranking Treasury professional in the company. In addition, the Treasurer will be responsible for assessing and implementing best-in-practice technology, managing banking relationships, and serve as lead support for international treasury planning and analysis.

Areas of Expertise & Special Skills

  • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience in treasury, accounting, or related financial expertise in positions of increasing scope and responsibility, or equivalent combination
  • Minimum of 12 years of treasury experience, preferably in a global technology company
  • Strong knowledge of cash management, foreign exchange, debt financing, and investment management
  • Experience with bank relationships, debt financing, and investment portfolio management
  • Experience leading automation initiatives and implementing treasury technology solutions
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead through change and transformative growth
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Professional certification such as Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is a plus

    Major Responsibilities

    • Manage inter-company cash, including intercompany lending and capital injections for global organization encompassing 25+ entities, providing support to all regions. Works with cross organization stake holders (Legal, Tax, Business leads, etc.) to develop cash concentration, repatriation, and pooling structure strategies to meet global operational and capital requirements. Consolidate and confirm financial results and provide internal and external business result reporting to CFO and BOD monthly. Coordinate with tax department on tax planning and implications to cash position management.
    • Develop and implement best practice regarding global treasury operations leveraging an integrated treasury system with core analytical systems and practices to plan cash flows and to forecast and analyze net interest expense and other key cash metrics. Provide deep understanding of international banking and treasury technology. Ensure integration of data produced into systems supports objectives.
    • Ensure treasury activities follow treasury policies, accounting guidelines, and internal controls and are compliant with US Tax, international statutory, and central bank requirements. Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures. Manage relationships with external auditors on controls, compliance, and business performance. Ensure the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data.
    • Develop and maintain a reliable global cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes borrowing needs, intercompany loans, and planning for repatriation of funds through loans or dividends as well as up to date history of the company's borrowings since inception. Monitor the Company's global and in-country cash pooling to minimize excess cash balances and reduce interest expense and maximize liquidity across the company's 25+ entities. Management reporting of monthly cash flows and liquidity. Support budget and forecast process for cash flow and liquidity. Ensure adequate liquidity for working capital needs and develop an investment policy for excess cash. Design operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency.
    • Oversee cash management banking and financial institution relationships. Negotiate bank and service fees.
    • Serve as highest ranking member within Treasury org, providing direct leadership to Treasury team at HQ and dotted line responsibility for the rest of world. Serve as global lead for all Treasury-related projects and any acquisition or divestiture by defining and executing effective cash management integration and/or divesting strategies.
    • Manage the selection, implementation and/or operation of one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, Cash Flows, etc. in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures.
    • Participate in annual audits and special projects. May work with external consultants or auditors to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes.
