Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, United Kingdom Location: Stockton-on-Tees, Durham University International Study Centre JOB OVERVIEW The Centre Director is responsible for leading and managing various teams involved in program design and delivery. They oversee the relationship with the university in terms of operations, academic management, and development. Reporting to the University Partnership Director and Study Group's management team, they provide clear direction aligned with organizational objectives. The Centre Director ensures excellent student outcomes and a positive student experience, both in and outside the classroom. They also focus on maintaining curriculum quality and incorporating learning technologies for improved student performance. The role involves setting high expectations for staff and students, fostering a collaborative approach, and supporting compliance with legislation and the delivery of high-quality services. The Centre Director leads staff engagement activities and should have prior experience in strategic leadership, particularly in a multi-disciplinary setting. Knowledge of UK Higher Education and experience managing study programs and support services within an international education context are essential. The ideal candidate would possess strong collaboration skills, including working effectively with university partners and across the Study Group network. Experience with negotiations involving trade unions or similar staff organizations is desirable. ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Provide powerful and inspirational leadership across the centre, working collaboratively with your leadership team.
  • Articulate and implement our vision to drive forward continuous improvement and enable the centre to achieve aspirational targets for student outcomes and contractual targets for student progression.
  • Lead and motivate ISC academic staff to contribute to ensuring the best possible student outcomes and student experience.
  • Lead the planning, management and delivery of all the ISC's academic programmes and courses to ensure the best possible student outcomes and student experience.
  • Set the framework for and oversee the allocation of teaching resources, ensuring that teaching and learning activities are planned and delivered within an agreed budget and meet operational margins.
  • Lead on ensuring that the design and delivery of all courses are conducted with reference to and according to Study Group's, partner universities and relevant external agencies' quality frameworks, policies, procedures and codes of practice. This includes the production and delivery of such documentation as is required by Study Group's Academic Office/Registry on an Annual or ad hoc basis.
  • Ensure that processes are in place for the effective design and implementation of appropriate, fair and secure assessment activities on all courses and ensure all students receive effective assessment feedback.
  • Ensure that high-quality service levels are delivered to students and other stakeholders, and that student satisfaction remains at a high level.
  • Lead on preparing new courses for approval and existing courses for pre-approval.
  • Ensure that new courses are designed to meet existing programme academic requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key contacts at the University, ensuring a full understanding of relevant University curriculum content, assessment modes and quality policies and procedures.Please contactiscrecruitment@studygroup.com for a full job description for this role.
