*Responsibilities of Therapeutic Recreation Specialist:*

* Responsible for planning and providing an ongoing program of activities for residents and patients in a short-term rehabilitation, sub-acute care, and long-term care center, that encourage physical, mental and psychosocial well-being
* Provide training to the person receiving services and as appropriate, all others involved in that person's rehabilitation
* Participate in the team process providing input and effective treatment strategies

*Qualifications for a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist*:

* Two (2+) years of social or recreational program experience within the last five years (one of which must have been full-time in a residential activities program in a health care setting) OR
* Completion of a state approved Therapeutic or Recreational Activities training program OR
* Must qualify as an Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
* Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) is preferred

Pay: From $38,000.00 per year
