Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I)Safe, Fast and Always Reliable - The Future of Cloud Infrastructure Today.Global Operations Learning & Development (L&D) is looking for a Critical Environments Field Operations Training Team Manager -at our headquarters in Redmond or any of our datacenter campuses -to support our Datacenter teams and physical infrastructure. Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) group plans, delivers, and operates Microsoft's cloud infrastructure to bring compute capacity to over 200 Microsoft internet/web properties worldwide. Within CO+I, our Global Datacenter Operations team delivers trustworthy and reliable cloud services through safe, flawless, and efficient operation of our global datacenters. -Microsoft's Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 100 datacenters and 1 million servers, managed by a team of subject matter experts working to support services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries worldwide.As part of the Global Operations L&D (GOLD) Team, you will contribute to and drive programs establishing Critical Environments technical training delivery; workforce training needs analysis; involvement in operations change and adoption activities; evaluation/reporting on L&D training initiatives for FTE and vendor personnel; and integrating learning solutions into operational planning initiatives.In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day.ResponsibilitiesAs a successful L&D Training Team Manager, your performance objectives will consist of:Close collaboration with Trainers, Critical Environment (CE) operations stakeholders, vendor management, and internal/external customer and L&D partners.Analyzing data from training and operations metrics to identify business needs and opportunities to improve learning-solution development and delivery. Close collaboration with datacenter directors, managers, regional datacenter operations program managers, and L&D partners across your region.Task-organizing your team to address specific training needs in support of global and regional initiatives.Application of consistent thought leadership and distributed team dynamics to integrate existing and proposed learning solutions to meet changing business needs, across our lines-of-business.Measuring and interpreting learning trends to determine regional team objectives and measuring results for prioritization of effort.Identify operations risks, training gaps, and learning opportunities and communicate to stakeholders and other teams to drive resolutionMaintain your personal technical proficiency in tools and procedures relative to the needs of your datacenterPromoting learning solutions and component offerings to drive awareness, demand, and consumption across your region. Leverage multiple points of influence to target communication and awareness across junior and senior audiences.Collaborating with and sharing regional perspectives with CE and Curriculum PM's and helping to drive effective Operational Training Programs across our datacenter fleet. Lead through change by bringing clarity, generating energy, and delivering successQualificationsMinimum Qulaification:--- -3+ years experience in Datacenter CE Operations across various functions, or 5+ years of electrical and/or mechanical experience in comparable Critical Facilities operations 3+ years of management experience for a Global Team across time zones in a geographically distributed organizationCollege or university degree or US Armed Services Honorable Discharge, or additional 2+ years' experiencePreferred Skills and Experience: -Experience working with individual contributors, technical specialists, managers, and executives across the full spectrum of a Global operations organization.Proficient at Microsoft Office products and collaboration software for virtual trainingExceptional written and Interpersonal skills: communicate effectively and concisely with stakeholders and leaders about our programs and objectives.Hands-on experience in a technical capacity with maintaining facility cooling, electrical, mechanical and life safety systems, Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Branch Circuit Monitoring (BCM), Building Automation Systems (BAS), and Battery Monitoring Systems (BMS)Experience in training delivery and readiness operations or demonstrated project management skillsAnalysis and writing: ability to diagnose or represent training data and anecdotal feedback in meaningful waysOperational Planning & Project Management: show structured thinking, planning, and ability to executeAble to work as part of a globally diverse team, collaborate with remote team members, and local Datacenter Management teams in support of training initiativesTravelling requirement:--- -Required to travel up to -25% depending on business need -Current Passport required -Background Check & Clearances -Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
