Location:Youngsville, NCSouthwire Job DescriptionThe primary
function or overall purpose of this position. --- The Customer
Order Engineer (Electrical Product Engineer) plays a vital role in
the design and development of custom electrical products tailored
to the customers' specific needs. This role will work closely with
the sales, engineering, and production teams to create detailed
electrical designs, generate accurate quotes and Bills of Materials
(BOMs), and provide technical support throughout the project
lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: --- Electrical Design: o Work
closely with the sales team and customers to understand their
unique requirements and specifications. o Develop detailed
electrical designs, including schematics, layouts, and component
selection, to meet project objectives. o Ensure compliance with
industry standards, codes, and safety regulations. o Collaborate
with the engineering team to integrate electrical designs
seamlessly into overall product designs. --- Quotation and Costing:
o Create accurate and competitive quotes for custom-engineered
electrical products, taking into account material costs, labor,
overhead, and other relevant expenses. o Collaborate with
procurement and suppliers to obtain pricing for electrical
components. o Review and refine quotes to optimize
cost-effectiveness while meeting customer expectations. o Calculate
labor and manufacturing costs. o Consider project timelines and
potential risks when creating quotes. --- Bills of Materials
(BOMs): o Generate detailed and costed Bills of Materials (BOMs)
for electrical products, ensuring accuracy and completeness. o
Maintain BOMs in the company's ERP system, including part creation,
updates, and revisions. o Work closely with the production team to
resolve any BOM-related issues and discrepancies. --- Technical
Support: o Serve as a technical point of contact for customers,
addressing inquiries and providing technical expertise throughout
project development. o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to
troubleshoot and resolve electrical design issues during
