Job Description: Senior Platform Engineer within Data EngineeringLocation: NC (Hybrid offsite/onsite schedule)We have an outstanding technology opportunity in the Data Engineering Chapter to deliver modern platform and data semantic solutions for the Fidelity Data Architecture & Engineering Foundations team. As Senior Engineer you will design and develop platform solutions in support of the Enterprise and the Enterprise Analytics Domain. In this role you will work closely with other platform engineers, data modellers, product owner, scrum master, and business partners to craft secure, scalable, resilient cloud-based services. As a senior technical member of your team, you will engage with the Data Management & Foundations CoE to adhere to platform, data engineering and data modelling standards and best practices across squads and Product Areas. The Expertise we re looking for

  • Bachelors or Masters in a technology related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering etc.) required.
  • 5+ years of experience in working with AWS, MS Azure, or other cloud providers.
  • Experience with AWS services such as AWS EC2, IAM, AWS CloudFormation, S3, VPC, SG. AWS Certification is a plus.
  • Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python (preferred) Java, C++, Scala, etc.
  • Related experience in data modeling for OLAP/OLAP and data warehouse design. Practical hands-on expertise in defining and implementing semantic layer (preferred)
  • Strong experience with relational database technologies (Oracle SQL & PL/SQL or similar RDBMS), preferably Snowflake or other Cloud Data warehousing services.
  • Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. Developing and deploying pipelines. Deploying within a cloud native infrastructure would be advantageous.
  • Practical experience delivering and supporting Cloud strategies including migrating legacy products and implementing SaaS integrations.
  • Proven experience in understanding multi-functional enterprise data, navigating between business analytic needs, partner with other members of technical teams to execute on product roadmaps which enable new insights with our data.
  • Able to work collaboratively with a geographically diverse team. The Skills you bring
    • Experience in working with AWS, MS Azure, and services such as Lambda or S3.
    • Practical experience with Python.
    • Strong SQL skills, data modelling and performance optimization.
    • Understanding of the role of meta-data and purpose of different layers within data lake, data warehouse and data mart design.
    • Experience in semantic layers & multidimensional modelling & tools like AtScale, OBIEE (preferred)
    • Prior experience with Data ingestion tool sets (e.g., Apache NiFi, Kafka) is advantageous.
    • Strong Focus on resiliency & reliability.
    • Proven track record of working in collaborative teams to deliver high quality data solutions in a multi-developer agile environment following design & coding best practices.
