Job Description: The Role Fidelity Investments has a Principal Software Engineer/Developer opening that represents an outstanding opportunity to further develop an individual's career in technology by supporting our business partners to ensure projects are implemented with the highest quality. This Principal Software Engineer will need to work independently and as part of a team to work in R4 production excellence area , able to support Production in responsive pillar, primarily for the mainframe applications in the Trade Processing Settlements product area and work with environment groups to integrate and support product changes after deployment to production environments.   • Subject matter and technical expert for Trade Processing Settlement functions and products and support applications with production stability as the key aspect
  • Very strong in 24/7/365 Production Support and On-call, Critical data analysis, Audits, Disaster Recovery areas
  • Well versed with Tech life cycle management, creating/maintaining /executing playbooks, performing recurring activities, Vendor relations
  • Ability to perform strong problem analysis and Ability to complete product support within the team
  • Strong personal skills and ability work closely with business collaborators and act as Production Tech lead in execution.
  • Support the Trades Processing Settlement Mainframe and some Distributed applications
  • Work with multiple team members to prod maintain applications using Mainframe technologies
  • Provides application support for own and key applications. Serve as on-call resource to support the organization's service and issue model and able to support and perform and deliver under pressure
  • Must work in agile mode
  • Must be able to work independently to prioritize tasks, provide direction and support to team
  • Solve problems and work with peer teams to resolve
  • Work without supervision, Determines and develops approaches to solutions, regularly provides guidance and training to enable other team members to meet/exceed expectations, Mentors other team members The Expertise and Skills You Bring
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems required
    • 12+ years of experience in mainframe coding and debugging and Production support and working under pressure and time sensitive deliverables
    • Expert in COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM, MQ Series, Native Stored Procs, Prod overrides, Control-M batch scheduler and all file processing utilities/software and other related utilities and tools
    • Must be extremely experienced with Production support and expert in bringing production stability
    • Financial Services experience and working with Trades Processing Settlement Systems
    • Knowledge of various Domestic and International settlements systems and DTCC Clearance, TAs and settlement flows highly preferred.
    • SFTP/AWXAY Secure File transfer knowledge
    • Must be proficient in Supporting, fixing, and maintaining mainframe prod applications without missing any SLAs, and fixing the issues immediately in prod MVS mainframe environment. Activities including, be able to maintain the contacts and approach the interfaces for any incoming file delays and quickly resolve, with mandatory proven multitasking skills
    • Ability to work independently and within a team structure. Manage and call out issues as necessary
    • Documentation, ability to produce the required playbooks and other documents
    • Production rollout and post production support in addition to prod maintain the core product
    • Problem determination and resolution, being a Fast learner, Promotes collaboration, Works across groups to resolve problems quickly
    • Ability to work in an Agile Scrum mode
